Dangerous goods
Dangerous and prohibited goods
At Goship Express, we strictly comply with national and international regulations on the transport of dangerous and prohibited goods. Our priority is to ensure the safety of our operations, our employees, our customers and the goods we carry. Here are the rules to follow.
Dangerous goods
Dangerous goods are articles or substances that may pose a risk to health, safety, the environment or property. Their transport is subject to the regulations of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and local authorities.
Examples of dangerous goods:
Toxic and corrosive chemicals
Flammable materials (liquids, gases or solids)
Explosives
Radioactive substances
Compressed gas cylinders
Lithium batteries in large quantities
Dangerous goods regulations
Mandatory prior classification: before any transport, goods must be classified, packed, labeled and documented in accordance with IATA/ICAO regulations.
Shipper's declaration: the shipper is responsible for providing a correctly completed Dangerous Goods Declaration (DGD), along with information on the nature of the goods, the quantities and the associated risks.
Specialized packaging: dangerous goods must be packed in approved packaging that meets current standards, ensuring they pose no risk during transport.
Team training: Goship Express employees who handle these goods must receive special training in the safe handling of hazardous materials.
Special authorizations: some categories of dangerous goods may require special authorizations from civil aviation or customs authorities before shipping.
Prohibited goods
Some goods are strictly prohibited by international and national regulations, and Goship Express will not accept them for transport under any circumstances. This includes illegal goods, harmful substances or items that could compromise the safety of flights or people.
Examples of prohibited goods:
Drugs and illegal substances
Unauthorized weapons, ammunition and explosives
Hazardous biological materials (viruses, pathogens)
Live animals (except in special cases and under special conditions)
Stolen or counterfeit items
Products from protected species (ivory, fur, etc.)
Falsified goods or goods that do not comply with local laws
Shipper's responsibilities
Legal compliance: the shipper is responsible for ensuring that the goods shipped comply with the regulations in force in the countries of departure, transit and destination.
Customs inspection: all goods are subject to inspection by customs authorities. Goship Express cooperates fully with the authorities to prevent any illegal or dangerous transport.
Penalties for non-compliance: if someone attempts to ship prohibited or improperly declared goods, Goship Express reserves the right to refuse the shipment, report the violation to the competent authorities and take legal action against the shipper.
Safety measures
To ensure everyone's safety, Goship Express has put strict controls in place to identify and manage dangerous or prohibited goods:
Prior inspection of cargo: we carefully inspect goods before loading to make sure they comply with current rules.
Communication with the authorities: Goship Express works with regulatory bodies, customs authorities and carriers to maintain a high level of compliance and safety.
Additional insurance: we recommend that our customers take out extra insurance for sensitive or high-risk goods, to ensure coverage if a problem arises.
